At the end of our Colombian journey, our Colombian Representative took me to visit another hotel in Bogota that had recently been renovated. I know a few of you have previously stayed at Las Palmas. It now has a new owner and the rooms have been, for the most part, complete. New beds, with modern decor, Plasma tv's, laminate wood flooring, nice closet space. For families working with Bethany or Children's Home Society this is another great option to look into...the pricing is comparable to Hotel Paris. We personally, would still stay at Paris due to relationships there, but, for a new time family, or families who do not have a special connection with the staff at Paris, this is a very good option for you. It's clean, it's large, the play area is very nice, the food, I'm told, is good, and there is always someone on staff that is fluent in English. Just something to think about when your surfing the web for hotels. The upgraded rooms are not yet on their web site, but, trust me, a step up from anywhere else I've seen...parks, groceries, etc. within walking distance, also!

My wife and I will be traveling to Bogota soon to adopt our four children. I have found Las Palmas to be very generous in negotiating a price, and I am excited to stay there. They really are giving us a great deal compared to what El Paris was willing to do. In fact, El Paris didn't come down at all from the prices already negotiated through Bethany.
